Puddle Jump Provisioning

Steps to provisioning your boat for 6 months….

Step 1: Spend 3 hours browsing and pillaging the aisles of your local Costco. Fill up 2 cart loads, spend $2,000. CHECK

Step 2: Dinghy said cartloads to and from the boat… about 8 times. Tire the dog out. CHECK

Step 3: Pause, sigh, don’t freak out…. think about where the hell all the food is going to go. CHECK

Step 4: Take all food out of cardboard packing (we’re in Mexico, where roaches are a problem!) and build a giant cardboard fort in the cockpit. CHECK

Step 5: Condense all food even more by taking all out of its own packing, putting it into ziplocks…. and adding layers and layers of Bay Leaves to combat those pesky weevils.

Step 6: Come to the realization that there’s no way in hell all the food is going to find a place to stow… make a run to Walmart for large plastic bins, and continue packing away the food… and even try to keep an inventory as you go. CHECK (kinda)

Step 7: Succumb to your exhaustion… and give up to finish another week day.

Superbe, I would love to get the list of food you packed to get an idea of proportion for three people. I hope you have a good crossing. Bon Voyage!
